Discrimination in the Workplace
While working at UCLA in an academic department, I faced
gender-based discrimination, harassment and retaliation. It wasn't easy to fight this. After initially complaining to my boss
and Human Resources for months, I contacted a lawyer. We tried to resolve the problem for 2 years and eventually had
to go through the court system. Ultimately, I prevailed with a jury verdict against UC Regents in August of 2004
which was upheld by the appellate court in Los Angeles. The California State Supreme Court declined to hear the UC petition,
so I won and it is a matter of public record. View my case at http://www.lasuperiorcourt.org and my case number is BC297766.
My successful appeal details: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/courts/courtsofappeal/2ndDistrict and the case numbers are B180451 and B179099.
In addition, my case has recently been added to the Project
On Government Oversight (POGO), which maintains the Federal Contractor Misconduct Database(www.contractormisconduct.org). The FCMD is a database of the 50 largest federal contractors and includes instances
of misconduct involving those contractors occurring since 1995. You can see my case details at

My Mission
To inform and educate people about discrimination in the
workplace and to understand what to do if it's happening to you or someone you know. As someone who successfully took
on UCLA in this matter, I learned much about the systme and what to do and hope to share my knowledge and expertise with anyone
who is faced with this situation. Good luck!
